Lascelles whisky tasting

“A Truly British Tasting”
(Sold out)

Following her hugely popular gin and whisky evenings the Highgate Society Events Committee is delighted that Alice Lascelles will  host “A Truly British Tasting” at 10A on Wednesday, November 27 at 7pm.

Britain’s mercantile history helped it develop one of the richest, and most colourful drinks markets in the world.  But while the Brits were busy knocking back French brandy, German wine and South American rum, they lost the art of making drinks of their own. Now, that heritage is being revived by a new generation of brewers, cider makers, vintners and distillers.

Alice Lascelles is the Financial Times drinks columnist and Fortnum & Mason Drinks Writer of the Year.   The tasting will feature some of the most exciting drinks now being make in the UK.   Discover the vermouths being blended in London and a gin foraged from the moors of Northumbria;  taste an award-winning sparkling wine and a perry made from ancient pear trees.  Prepare for a non-alcoholic tipple too, flavoured with iris, lotus and vetiver, by one of the capital\’s best bartenders.

The event costs £25 a head which includes a selection of tasters and accompanying nibbles.

This event is now sold out.
