Highgate Modern Homes

A talk by Professor David Porter, Monday 9th July 6.30pm. Book on Eventbrite. Limited spaces so booking is essential.

The historic village of Highgate and its surroundings is the location for perhaps the largest concentration of modern homes in the UK. Because of the historic context and the pressure on land many are hidden away. This talk will showcase what has become a tradition of building modern houses and flats, private and public, combining advanced design with advanced ideas about living.

Professor David Porter has had a distinguished career in architecture, initially working in housing with the London Borough of Camden and in partnership with Neave Brown. His more recent career includes professorships at the University of Glasgow (Emeritus),CAFA, Beijing,University of Westminster (Visiting) and currently President of the Architectural Association London.
